Terms and conditions
Last updated: August 10, 2026
In short: we read the visible data on the document you provide; we do not verify its authenticity or check it against official registries. We charge only for successful extractions, and you are responsible for having the right to process the documents you submit.
1. Scope and acceptance
These terms govern your use of Extract Passport Data (https://extractpassportdata.com), a service operated by Roberto Carlos Frías Sobrevilla ("we", "us"), who can be reached at [email protected] or through the form at https://extractpassportdata.com/contacto. The service performs automated data extraction from images of passports, available through the website, an application programming interface (API), and our mobile app.
By creating an account, running an extraction, or using the API, you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.
2. Nature of the service and absence of official affiliation
We are a private, independent service. We have no relationship with, affiliation to, sponsorship from, or endorsement by any government authority, and in particular we are not connected with Mexico’s National Electoral Institute (INE) or any other identity-document issuing authority.
The service reads and structures the information visible in the image you provide. It does NOT verify the authenticity of the document, does NOT confirm that it is currently valid, and does NOT check or validate the data against the electoral roll or any official registry. A successful result means only that the document could be read — not that the document is genuine.
Automated recognition is fallible. You are responsible for reviewing and validating extracted data before relying on it for any purpose, particularly where legal, financial, or identity decisions follow from it.
3. Your account
To use the service you must register an account and be of legal age with capacity to enter into contracts. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and safeguard your access credentials.
You are responsible for all activity carried out through your account and with your API keys. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you detect unauthorized use.
You may request deletion of your account at any time by writing to us. Deletion is permanent and forfeits any unused token balance.
4. Tokens, pricing, and payment
- Each successful extraction consumes 1 token. Extractions that fail due to a system error are not charged: the token is automatically returned to your balance.
- On signup you receive 20 free tokens to try the service, with no purchase obligation.
- Tokens do not expire.
- Tokens have no monetary value outside the service, are not transferable between accounts, and are not redeemable for cash.
- Current package prices are shown on the site, in the stated currency and inclusive of applicable taxes unless indicated otherwise.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We neither receive nor store your card details. A purchase is credited to your balance once Stripe confirms payment.
We may change prices at any time. Changes are not retroactive: they do not affect tokens you have already purchased, which remain valid.
5. Auto-topup
If you explicitly enable it, we may automatically charge the card you authorize whenever your balance falls below the threshold you set. On enrollment you are shown, and we retain, the exact text of your consent, including the package, amount, and threshold.
Auto-topup operates under frequency limits of one charge per hour and a maximum of ten charges in twenty-four hours. You can disable it at any time from your tokens dashboard; disabling it deletes the stored card and stops all automatic charges.
6. Refunds
Token purchases are final. As a digital good credited to your account immediately, neither consumed tokens nor unused balance are refundable, and unused balance is not redeemable for cash.
We do refund in full any duplicate charge, unauthorized charge, or billing error attributable to us. Report these to [email protected] and we will resolve them to the original payment method.
Note that failed extractions are not charged: the token is automatically returned to your balance, so no refund request is needed for them. Tokens do not expire, so any balance you purchase remains available for later use.
Before purchasing a package, we recommend using your free trial tokens to confirm the service meets your needs.
None of the above limits the rights granted to you by Mexico’s Federal Consumer Protection Law.
7. Lawful use and responsibility for documents
You represent and warrant that, for every document you process, you are the data subject or you hold sufficient legal authority and the data subject’s consent to process it.
With respect to third-party personal data you process through the service, you act as the data controller under applicable data protection law, and we act as a processor handling the data on your behalf and under your instructions.
In Mexico, misuse of voter credentials and electoral roll information is sanctioned under electoral law. Compliance with those rules is your sole responsibility.
8. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Process documents obtained unlawfully, or that are stolen, forged, or altered.
- Use the service to impersonate others, commit fraud, assemble databases of individuals without a legal basis, or for any unlawful purpose.
- Share, publish, or resell your API keys, or allow unauthorized third parties to access your account.
- Reverse engineer the service, systematically scrape its content, or attempt to access data or systems that are not yours.
- Circumvent usage limits, security controls, or billing mechanisms, or generate load that degrades the service for other users.
9. Service availability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor that extraction results will be complete or accurate in every case.
We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily interrupt the service, giving advance notice where reasonably possible. If the service is permanently discontinued, we will give reasonable advance notice so you can use up your remaining balance before it closes.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us during the three months preceding the event giving rise to it.
We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, data loss, or for decisions you or third parties make based on extracted data, which it is your responsibility to review.
Nothing above limits our liability for willful misconduct or any liability that by law cannot be limited.
11. Indemnification
You agree to hold us harmless from any claim, proceeding, or penalty, including reasonable costs and fees, arising from your processing of documents without the necessary legal basis, your breach of these terms, or your unlawful use of the service.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without liability where there is a breach of these terms, fraudulent or unlawful use, or a risk to the security of the service or of third parties. Where termination is attributable to you, any unused token balance is forfeited.
You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time.
13. Intellectual property
The service’s software, brand, design, and documentation are owned by us or used under license. These terms transfer no rights in them to you beyond the license needed to use the service.
The images you upload and the data you obtain are yours. We acquire no rights in them and do not use them to train models or for any purpose other than providing the service to you.
14. Personal data
Processing of personal data is governed by our privacy policy at https://extractpassportdata.com/privacidad, which forms an integral part of these terms. It sets out, among other things, that we do not retain the content of successful extractions.
15. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms to reflect changes to the service or to applicable law. The current version is always available at https://extractpassportdata.com/terminos, showing its last-updated date. When a change is material we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the site before it takes effect; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States.
For consumer relationships, the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO) has administrative competence over any disputes that may arise. For all other disputes, the parties submit to the competent courts of Mexico, waiving any other jurisdiction that might apply to them.
For any question about these terms, write to us at [email protected].
